Jesus is the Word

So recently, I have been having an addiction. This addiction has led me to stop for hours and focus on my new line. It is my new habit and I am so very glad. When one is addicted, it is most likely that the person has been feeding on this habit slowly by slowly and in no time after continually engaging the habit, it has now become their lifestyle and they cannot help but to continue with the habit which becomes impossible to stop. My recent habit is reading and studying the Word. I made a decision not to make myself busy that I cannot spend time meditating on scripture and as I speak this very moment glory to God that He not only gives me the time to study scriptures but gives me the Holy Spirit because once you decide to read scripture, the Spirit of God must be there to enlighten you on what you read. Scripture denotes that the Spirit of God searches all things, even the deep things of God(1 Corinthians 2:10) so His presence very important to one's spiritual walk. May the Spirit bring forth understanding hence!

I today was studying about what exactly is the Word. Most Christians often think the Word is the Bible, written scriptures on paper inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is quite unfortunate. Word to begin with in Greek is logos. John in John 1: 1-2 says that : In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Verse 14 says the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us...When we talk of the beginning this drives us to Genesis 1:26 this was the Holy Trinity at work together, let US make man in our own image. The Word, therefore, was either to be the Son or the Spirit but John says the Word became flesh meaning the Word must have had physical dimensions in itself and looking at the Trinity the only person we say was fully God and fully man is Jesus so He's got to be the Word. John then brings us to understanding a little concept of the Holy Trinity that the Word was with God meaning Jesus is distinct from God, the Word was God meaning that Jesus is God. This sometimes confuses Christians but in a simple way Jesus is fully God, rather every person in the Trinity is fully God so there is only one God but each person is not the totality of the other, they all are distinct.

Jesus in the Holy Trinity was in-charge of the physical matter because God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are invisible therefore it is proper to say that Jesus is the invisible God who is made manifest in the physical sense (Colossians 1:15-17). Before the existence of the world, the Son existed with the Father. God spoke everything into existence, and Jesus being the Word spoken all things were made through Him for Him and by Him. This means the Word from an invisible God moved from the spiritual realm and showed up in the physical. This way the invisible is made to a spoken word and once it is spoken out, the effect required is brought forth. This is similar to this: What we speak out always comes out of our inner thoughts and therefore out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks( Luke 6:45). So this directly makes Jesus the physical manifestation of the Father who was sent to reveal the will of the Father to the world.

Jesus is therefore,  the way through which the Father brought the reality of the physical world. The Word of God who is Jesus is the proceeding thought of God. It is powerless and lacks effect as long as it remains to be just Word- logos. You have got to speak it and the instant it comes from your mouth it becomes Power of God- Dunamis. But you begin by knowing the Word, believing in the Word and speaking the Word for it to manifest in the physical. The instance you become addicted to the Word then it is equivalent to getting addicted to Jesus also meaning, you have a desire to grow in the knowledge of God which can only be realized through Jesus- The Word.  The Word is brought to us in a very prolific manner, it is a great treasure and it is rich beyond our comprehension.

Let the Word richly dwell in you!

Amen.
